This cuff-down baby sock pattern incorporates a simple cable and is written with beginning sock knitters in mind. The pattern uses the same materials and construction as most adult sock patterns (with heel flap and gusset) but on a much smaller, less time-consuming scale.

There is only one size that should fit most newborns to 3 months old.

This pattern is a real stash-buster! All that is needed is about 16-18 grams of fingering weight yarn, or approximately 60-75 yards, depending on gauge.

For the beginning stock knitter, the pattern refers to tutorial videos on the German Twisted Cast-On, the Kitchener stitch, and the use of a small crochet hook for picking up stitches along the gusset of the heel. Also, all pertinent rounds/rows are written out. Both written instructions and charts are included.

The pattern is “needle-agnostic”, meaning that the knitter may use whatever needles he or she prefers -- dpns, small circular needles, 2 circulars, or 1 long circular for Magic Loop.
