This is a top down cardigan, worked with both fronts and back in one piece. The sleeves are added after the body is complete and are knit in the round, this reducing the amount of sewing up required once the knitting is complete. It is meant to be made with 5/6 mini skeins (20gms each) plus two 100gm balls of the main colour but is equally a good ‘stash buster’ for different yarns. The pattern explains how different edgings can be put on the short or long sleeves and how to alter dimensions from a boxy short sleeved summer cardigan to a longer line, long sleeved version.
The cardigan is knitted in 4ply yarn, using 3mm needles. I recommend a circular needle, rather than straight needles, but that is personal choice. A small circular needle is needed for the sleeves.
