De cycloptopus is een nieuwsgierig water diertje, wat veel doet denken aan een octopus, maar dan met maar 1 oog!
Ze zijn in het begin een beetje schuw, maar als je ze leert kennen zijn het echte helpertjes.

Het formaat van de cycloptopus is volledig afhankelijk van de draad en haaknaald grootte. Hoe dikker je garen, hoe groter ze zijn.
Dit patroon is gebaseerd op katoen garen, uit bollen van 50g met een looplengte van ca. 105m. Het eindproduct is dan zo’n 5cm hoog. (tentakels niet meegerekend.)

Dit patroon kan zeer zeker een restjesvreter zijn!

Om de cycloptopus te maken heb je het volgende nodig:
-Garen in 3 of 4 kleuren. (Hoofdkleur, oogwit, pupil en iris kleur)
-Haaknaald
-Vulling
-Naald
-Steekmarkeerder, of ander ding om je steken te markeren.
Optioneel:
-Pantykousje om je vulling in te stoppen

Het is een vrij makkelijk patroon waarbij je het volgende moet kunnen:
-Magische ring
-Losse ketting
-Vasten
-Halve stokjes
-Stokjes
-Meerderen (2 vasten in dezelfde steek van de vorige toer)
-Ontzichtbaar minderen
-Rijg en of stiksteek

The cycloptopus is a very curious little water fellow, which reminds you of a regular octopus, except this one only has one eye!
When you first meet them, they’re a little shy, but after you get to know them, they’re good little helpers!

The size of the cycloptopus depends on the yarn weight and hooksize, so they come in all sorts of sizes!
This pattern is based on cotton yarn, 50gr and about 105m in length, the finished product will be about 5cm (2inch) tall, tentacles not included.

THIS CAN BE A STASH BUSTER!

To make the Cycloptopus you’ll need the following materials:
-Yarn in 3 to 4 colors (Main color, eye white, pupil and iris color)
-Crochet hook in the size your yarn requires.
-Stuffing
-Darning or sewing needle
-Stitch marker, or something to use as a stitch marker (like a bit of yarn in contrasting color)
Optional:
Pantyhose for the stuffing

-Magic ring

-Slip stitch
-Single crochet
-Half double crochet
-Double crochet
-Increase
-Invisible decrease
-Running sewing stitch
