When I was little my father would take us on a rug in the garden in the evening and teach us about the stars, the constellations, and how to navigate by them. We learned about Ursa Major and Ursa Minor aka as the Big Dipper and the Little Dipper, Orien’s Belt which made it easy to find Orien and Cassiopeia. My favourite was and still is Aquila (the Eagle). One day I asked my Da what if I get lost, he said find the North Star and call my name, it is my job to find you when you’re lost. Much has happened since those carefree days and Da is with our Mam in heaven with too many of my sisters and brothers. The most recent loss of my sister Siobhan has rocked me and I am lost, and I wonder Da can you hear me?
