Dachshund Coaster
Background:
I saw this pattern on Pinterest awhile back, but unfortunately the post was in a language I cannot read and the link took me to an Etsy shop that no longer sold this pattern. I wanted to make this coaster set for a friend of mine who’s dachshund is her best-friend. I did mimic the pattern from sight and used HDC because it’s my favorite stitch. If I could do this again, I would start with the face side first - I did not correctly gauge how many rows I needed and ended up adding an extra row after it was finished. I would also use a SC if there is more than 1 color change - when I would change color I realized that I needed to change the yarn during the first YO or at the last YO when changing from brown to black.
Things you will need:
Yarn - I use Red Heart but you need 2-3 colors
(Background color, Colors for dog)
5.00mm / H Hook
Scissors
Yarn Needle (if you have it – you don’t need it)

Pattern Stitches:

Color changes
Notes:
You can easily adjust the size of the coaster by changing the hook size or adding/decreasing stitches
If you don’t know how to change colors, check out Crochet Guru and her video Beginner Course: Lesson #7 Changing Colors ( https://youtu.be/6979knxSLKM ).
I recommend starting with the head side first - I started rear side first and did not account for the extra rows I needed.
You may need to swap the colors out at the first Yarn Over or at the last Yarn Over depending on the colors you are using.
