Little sweaters/ jumpers make really cute decorations, cards and banners/ bunting for all sorts of occasions. My Father in Law, Pete is steam train mad and my own late father was a train driver for over 40 years, initially training in the days of steam. So a steam train version of the sweater was always going to be a family favourite and perfect to produce this Christmas banner for Pete.

This pattern is part of an e-book. You can use the full alphabet provided in this pattern to make bespoke banners weddings, birthdays and new baby gifts. Numbers are also included so you can add dates and there are also hearts and other motifs you can include on sweaters in your banner. The ebook includes lots of photos of items I’ve made to help give you some inspiration.

The basic sweater is very quick to knit and the ebook includes lots of different variations, including:
