The yarns I used for the flower were “Sunshine” from Caron Simply Soft, for the crown of the flower; “Gold” also from Caron Simply Soft, for the stamens; and “White”, also from Caron Simply Soft, for the petals; I also used “Spring Green”, from Red Heart Super Saver, for the leaves and stem.
I used some craft wire to give the leaves and stem some structure. This wire is 22 gauge.

I made the flowers using a size 2.25 mm hook and some worsted weight yarn. But I actually think the best way to make these flowers light and delicate is to make them either with fine weight yarn, or with split apart worsted or aran weight yarn, and a size 3.5 mm hook. They look ok in worsted weight, but they just look a little thick, and bulky. I would have tried using a finer weight yarn, but it seems like they just don’t have that many in stores anymore, except in super pastel baby colors. Which could work for certain flowers, but I think they look better with a bright, vibrant color, and you can only really reliably find colors like that in either worsted or aran weight. So I prefer to make them with split apart yarns. In the video, I show you how to make them out of the worsted weight yarn, because it’s a little easier to see what I’m doing. But if you want that pretty, light, delicate petals look, I suggest either using finer weight yarn, or using split apart worsted or aran weight yarn, for the flower.
For the leaves, though, I just used aran weight yarn and a size 3.5 mm hook.

I added these daffodils to a vase, and now they add a real pop of color to the room!
