An early Spring has meant that daffodils have come out in late February. Not only do I love that bright, daffodil yellow, I love the cheerful, optimistic promise of better weather that the daffodils bring.
The hat follows traditional Tam O’Shanter shaping but instead of corrugated ribbing, I’ve placed a daffodil motif around the brim. This is then followed by a daffodil bud design for the increase section. The 6 segment decrease is then perfect for one large daffodil on the crown of the hat.
I’ve used Jamieson’s Spindrift because the colour range included the perfect yellow and it is an ideal yarn for colourwork
