A simple yoke cardigan with an extraordinary collar. Inspired by the radiating petals of the dahlia flower, the embossed collar motif is highlighted against a muted reverse stockinette stitch background. The cardigan is worked seamlessly from the neck down, back and forth on circular needles. Yoke shaping is integrated into the petal collar pattern, with short row shaping worked at the base of the collar to create additional length in the back. The body is worked back and forth on circular needles; the sleeves are worked in the round on dpns. A garter stitch neckline and button placket are worked continuously with the body. The body blouses in to a fitted garter stitch waist, then flares again to accommodate the hip circumference. A garter stitch band finishes the edges at the cuffs and body hem.
