Split Square Daily Granny Temperature Blanket

A year-in-weather granny square pattern, adaptable to any start date and location.

This blanket turns one year of daily high and low temperatures into a granny-square afghan: one square per day, plus a marker square at the start of each month. Colors move from cool to warm across a nine-color palette, so the finished piece reads as a visual record of a full year of weather at a place you choose.

The pattern is written to be adapted — pick your own start date, home weather station, and yarn to make it entirely your own.

A meaningful keepsake: because it’s built around a specific year and place, this pattern makes a wonderful commemorative project — a baby’s first year of life, a couple’s first year of marriage, a first year in a new home, or any other year worth remembering, stitched into something you can wrap up in for years to come.
