This item is a 14-pages pdf file with intructions on how to make your own Dala Horse pillow.

Dala Horses are traditional Swedish horse statues made of wood, carved and hand-painted. They originate from the Swedish province of Dalarna (Dalecarlia). In the old days the Dala horse was mostly used as a toy for children, in modern times it has become a symbol of Dalarna, as well as of Sweden in general.

This Dala Horse pattern has full instructions with charts and pictures and it will help you create a beautiful pillow or any other project.
It’s very easy to understand and follow for intermediate/advanced crocheters. All stitches are explained with great detail. The pattern allows you to create any sized pillow, all you have to do is use heavier or lighter yarn and a smaller or bigger hook, but for clarity and simplicity I have narrowed the instructions to a 30 x 35 cm pillow using Durable Comfy (100g/266m) with a 3,5mm hook.
This pattern is versatile and contains 2 isolated charts with the horses facing either east or west to match all your projects: scarves, bags, table runners… anything is possible !

This pattern uses US terminology and requires 3 contrasting colors:
Color A (background): 1 to 2 skeins (~110g)
Color B (border and horses): 1 skein (~90g)
Color C (tulips and horse decorations): ~15g

Experience: intermediate/advanced
Technique: overlay mosaic crochet in the round (no yarn cuts)
Size: 14 pages
