This is my merman crochet pattern for Damarion, the mighty ruler of the ocean. It’s a fun amigurumi doll pattern for intermediate as well as seasoned crocheters!

Damarion the merman is the proud father of Mara the mermaid. You can find her pattern here: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/mara-and-marina-...
You can also use this pattern to crochet Sam the merman, former Sam the sailor ( https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/sam-the-sailor ), who turned into a merman to be with his love Mara. I’m sure they will make a fun addition to your Amigurumi collection.

This downloadable pdf pattern has detailed step-by-step instructions that are accompanied by high quality photos of the process.
The pattern includes options for embedding a wireframe in the doll, as well as a wired trident and a soft, play-friendly version. There are also options for crocheting arm guards and embroidering an anchor tattoo (from Sam’s old days as a sailor).

The download includes photo tutorials on how to make a magic ring, invisible decreases in single crochet, and color changes in single crochet.

The dolls are crocheted from top to bottom and there is minimal sewing involved.

Required materials and tools:

Cotton yarn in a DK / light worsted weight in different colors
2.5mm crochet hook / Size B-1 or C-2 depending on how tightly you crochet
Black embroidery floss
7mm safety eyes
Fiberfill
Large eyed sewing needle
Stitch markers
Yarn needle
Scissors
Craft wire (at least 1mm diameter) (optional)
PVC tape (optional)

If using the recommended yarn weight and hook size your merman doll will be about 27cm / 10.5” tall.

Language: English (US)
