A semicircular/crescent shawl with twelve lace patterns for the
Twelve Dancing Princesses.

Size: Adult. Finished measurements after blocking: approximately 83 inches (212 cm) wide and 30 inches (76 cm) deep.

Needles: One circular needle 29 inches (72.5cm) or longer in US #5 (3.75 mm) or size needed to approximate gauge. Choosing a needle size that gives a pleasing effect – loose enough to give good drape but tight enough for the lace patterns to show – is more important than gauge.

Gauge: 5 sts/inch (2.5 cm) and 7.5 rows/inch measured over blocked stocking stitch.

Yarn: Cascade Yarns Forest Hill laceweight, 51% silk, 49% merino wool, 785 yds (717.5 m) to 3.5 oz (100 g). One skein in Blue (color #12). If substituting a different yarn, at least 800 yds (738.5m) laceweight yarn is recommended.
