Description:
Dancing Stripes Cowl is a fun design to use at least 2 different colorways of DK weight yarn. Only about 160 yards are needed of each yarn for a 2-color version. It can be done with more colors, it is a great stash busting project.
The cowl works in the round. The stitch pattern uses stripes of different colors plus simple decreases and yarn overs, and their different positions create a zig-zagging effect of the stripes.
The pattern describes one size and gives customization tips too.

You need to know how to knit, purl, yarn over, k2tog, ssk.

Materials:
Yarn: MC: 160 yds (145 m) + CC: 145 yds (130 m) of sport or DK weight yarn
Sample made with 2 colors, 1 skein each of
Knit Picks Hawthorne DK, 80% Wool, 20% Nylon, 225 yards/100g,
Colors: MC - Italian Ice Speckle, CC - Foster Powell Multi
Needles: circular needles US 4 (3.5mm) 24″ (60 cm) long, or size to obtain gauge.
Notions: 1 BOR stitch marker, 5 stitch markers, tapestry needle, blocking mat & pins

Gauge:
18 sts x 30 rnds = 4x4” (10x10 cm) in Stockinette Stitch in the round, blocked.
The exact gauge is not crucial, but a different gauge will affect finished measurements and yarn usage.
