A semicircular shawl with a cut out neck that warms your shoulders, stays in place, and flatters anything from a fairy-tale ball gown to weekend jeans. The lace feathers up from a stylish border and finishes with eyelets at the neck. It’s easy enough for a novice lace knitter, and fun for everybody who loves lace.

Size: Adult. Finished measurements after blocking: approximately 90 inches (225cm) at bottom edge and 18 inches (45cm) deep.

Needles: One each 24-inch (60cm) circular needles in US #6 (4mm) and #8 (5mm) or sizes needed to match gauge.

Gauge: 6 sts/inch (2.5cm) measured over unblocked stocking stitch on US #6 (4mm) needle. Exact gauge is not crucial.

Yarn: Meadowlake Fiber Arts Superwash Merino Fingering, 100% superwash merino wool, 433 yds (400m) to 3.5 oz (100g). Two skeins in April Showers.
