about the yarn using for Dani Hood:

8 ply is DK weight (200 meters / 100 g yarn), this is absolutely fine for Dani Hood.

Some might add a Mohair strand and get 10 ply which is Aran or Worsted weight (150 meters / 100 g), and this is also fine.
