You can get ready for Christmas with this Danish Santa Hat to keep your ears and heart warm all through winter.

The hat is knitted starting from the head, ending with the tip. The tassel is added on afterwards.

This is a Santa Hat - in Danish it is called a Nisse Hue. A Nisse is like an Elf or (in later history) Santa’s helper. In Denmark Nisser has been around since 1823 (That’s before the first stories about Santa Claus).

The Nisse usually lived on Danish farms - you had to treat the Nisse well or it would give you a hard time.

In some areas in Denmark, the Nisse Hue was a part of the folk costume.

This hat is made with inspiration from real Danish folk costumes.

Gauge 22 sts X 28 rows = 10cm
