I can never get enough cashmere ;) especially Mongolian Jade Sapphire 100% cashmere. The first time I saw the burnished gold colour in the store I knew I had to make something out of it. Wearing this hat truly is a luxury and often I think its fallen clear off my head because its so light and airy it hardly feels like wearing a skull cap at all.
The design is a combination of two things, as you can see from the title. I based the cathedral window style design from a very old, and very tiny, couture drawing of a beaded wedding cap from the 1920s. Then I updated it with a little modern twist. The pattern within the window panes is that of a triangle with a twisted inward cable running horizontally above it. Just in case you still don’t get it: that’s the cover image from Pink Floyd’s ‘Dark Side of the Moon’ album.
I hope you enjoy it!
