This pattern is available from knitpicks.com for $4.99.

This is the kind of toque and cowl set that anyone can make or wear, reminiscent of those glances at a passerby wearing something that was beautiful but gone too soon to be able to recreate it.

Worked in the round, this set includes toques sized from infant to adult and two different styles of cowl—a smaller single-loop size and a double-looping size. The knit/purl pattern is basic enough for a beginner, but satisfyingly complex in appearance. Both toque and cowl are fully reversible—either side can be the right side! This pattern has no charts.

Toque sample is 20” size; cowl sample is 28” size.
