The Dathan Scarf is a beginner-friendly textured scarf knitting pattern made entirely with basic knit and purl stitches.

It’s a great next project for knitters who have learned the basic stitches and are ready to move beyond practice swatches. The scarf is worked flat on straight needles, giving you plenty of time to practice recognizing your stitches, keeping an even tension, and settling into a comfortable knitting rhythm.

The finished sample measures approximately 8” × 72”, but the length is easy to customize. Knit it shorter or continue working the pattern for additional length.

Both written and charted instructions are included for the stitch pattern.
