I have made this exact hat for my best friend, Dave, for the last three years. Over the years I have used different materials, different yarns, cheap yarns, expensive yarns – all of it! I actually love this hat for that hand dyed size 2 yarn that you have no idea what to make with it that has been haunting you in your closet since you purchased several years ago. This little hat finishes off so many outfits and is nice and light which is perfect for the fall we have been having. Whip it up in a few hours and make as many as you need to match your wardrobe.

1. Ch 2 does not count as a stitch on odd rows
2. I like to put my last dc of the row in between the DC and the ch 2
3. A Dave size head is quite big, I would say like a large men, or XL women, a Katy sized head is a women’s medium.
