Daydreamer pullover
The Daydreamer Pullover is a relaxed, boxy pullover with dropped shoulders and an allover lace pattern that runs uninterrupted from hem to neckline. Long sleeves and a folded neckband give it a clean, polished finish that works across seasons.
The pullover is started at the back neck and increased to the full width of the back, with the increases over the lace pattern fully charted. Stitches are then picked up for the shoulders and worked as the front. The front and back are joined at the underarm and the body is worked in the round. Sleeve stitches are picked up from the body and worked in the round in the same lace pattern. The hem and cuffs are finished with a tubular bind off for neat, stretchy edges. The neckband is folded for a minimal, structured finish.
The pullover is worked holding one strand of fingering weight yarn together with a lace weight suri alpaca, a combination that gives you a fabric with a soft halo and beautiful drape that makes the lace feel almost weightless. My sample is knitted in Explorer Knits and Fibers Denali Sock held together with Explorer Knits and Fibers Suri Alpaca Lace. If you prefer a single yarn, the pullover can also be worked in a single strand of DK weight yarn. For the lace to show its best, choose a solid or slightly tonal colorway.
The Daydreamer Pullover comes in 12 sizes across two gauges, so what at first looks like a smaller size range is actually broader than usual. The recommended ease is 5–15 cm / 2–6 inches, but you can go slimmer with 0–5 cm or more oversized with 20–30 cm / 8–12 inches of ease. The length of the body and sleeves is easily adjusted, and I recommend trying it on as you go.
If you love this design, the Daydreamer pattern family also includes a tee, a cardigan, and a matching skirt. Each one works just as well on its own as it does as part of a set.
Sizes
When choosing a size, measure your bust and add the intended ease, then choose the size that is closest to that measurement. You can also measure the bust circumference of your favorite sweater and choose a size that is closest to that.

Gauge
There are two alternative gauges for this design, depending on the finished bust circumference you are aiming for. Check the sizing information for more details on how the gauge affects the size of your pullover.
