Daydreams Curtain
I love matching sets - and this curtain is the big sister of the Morning Light curtain - it’s wider, covers more, gives you more lace, but still let’s the light in. So if you need some privacy but also natural light, this Daydreams Curtain is your perfect solution.
It’s an easy filet crochet project, that will take some time to complete, but in my opinion crocheting lace is incredibly rewarding. Not only will it match your window exactly as you like, but you will be able to show this off to anyone: and you don’t even have to invite them in!
The curtain is a confident beginner-friendly project, using slip stitches, chain stitches, double crochet and treble crochet.
The 27 page-pattern document comes with a detailed written pattern and clear stitch charts.
This curtain is the perfect travel companion, as you can always easily trace back where you left things off. The length is customisable, and only requires about 1-2 balls of thread. The curtain on the photo is 60grams & about 80 cm, using DMC Cebelia No.10, and a 1.6 mm hook (or 1.5mm if that’s what you have).
Gauge is unnecessary for thiss project - the width is set, and will depend on your tension, and the length is fully customisable.
You will be able calculate the length required for your window after the first pattern repeat. I recommend adding 1-2 extra motifs to err on the safe side for shrinkage.
Easy to remember motif that you’ll remember in no time, speeding up production time :) It’s easy to get hooked, I haven’t stopped until all my windows were covered (and that was 7! : ) )
I want people to be able and want to create their own household items, so I write patterns to inspire and motivate everyone to start creating.
Making your own curtain is no small feat, but I want to encourage you to give it a go. It will definitely be a heirloom piece, and you will be proud of yourself for a lifetime.
Join the movement and fight the mass-producing system one stitch at a time :)
