Welcome to my Snowflake Bottle Cap Coaster series!

I adore snowflakes. They have been inspiring me since I was a child. I love their perfect six-fold symmetry, and their lace-like delicacy.

Natural snowflakes are infinitely varied, and these patterns have been designed so the points can be arranged facing in or out. I’ve also designed these patterns to be interchangeable, so the centers from one design fit with the points from all the others. That means you can make at least two different snowflakes from each pattern, and twice as many again with every pattern you download. Ideas for alternative snowflake designs are given in the patterns, and shown in the uploaded photos.

Each bottle cap cover should fit snugly over the cap. I use a 1.25 mm hook with size 10 thread to make the stitches cover the cap without gaps on top. Adjust your hook size as necessary. Each coaster needs a minimum of 70 yards of thread and 7 standard twist off bottle caps.
