De Base means basic and this pattern was designed with the beginner knitter in mind. This pair of easy to knit accessories uses basic knitting skills and techniques, with a little extra detail thrown in to teach new skills. The novice knitter will not feel that this is beyond their abilities and it’s a quick but interesting knit for the experienced knitter.

Note: The yarn used is hand dyed, so for even colour distribution it is recommended to work from two skeins throughout, alternating every two rows.

MATERIALS:
4mm (US 6), 4mm (US 6 - 80cm) circular needle, 31⁄4mm (US 3) needle, 5mm (US 8 - 80cm) circular needle or size needed to obtain gauge, 3 stitch markers, tapestry needle, 3 toggle or wooden buttons size 11⁄2’’ (4 cm).

GAUGE:
Garter st - 17 sts and 36 rows = 4’’ (10cm), using larger needle.
1 x 2 Rib - 25 sts and 28 rows = 4’’ (10cm), using smaller needle.
