The December Sun Sweater is knitted top down on needles 8mm and 9 mm in bulky yarn or scraps of yarn held together. The description of how to make the ultimate scrap yarn sweater by holding different yarns together is at the end of the pattern. This both clean up your stash of yarn and creates a unique garment.

Since the sweater is knitted top down it is easy to modify should the gauge change underway in the process. Gauge for the pattern is 10x14 sts on 10x10 cm on a 9mm needles. If the yarn is too thick or thin to get gauge on the 9mm needle it is possible to go up or down a needle size or cast on a size smaller or larger instead of meeting gauge. Always test your gauge before casting on for the sweater to make sure you get the right sizing.
