This shawl is all about the lines. It began with a drawing I made in my notebook, and I had to figure out how to make it happen! To me it looks like the wings of an Art Deco Angel. I really love the flattering lines of this piece!

The Deco Angel Shawl is a symmetrical triangular shawl worked from the center-top down. It uses a combination of two-color brioche stitch and two-color garter stitch to create the pattern.

Finished Sizes (S|L)
Wingspan: 62 in/158 cm | 77 in/196 cm
Center Depth: 26 in/66 cm | 32 in/81 cm

Gauge
10.5 sts and 20 rows = 4 in/10 cm in brioche rib, using the smaller needles and after blocking.
Gauge is not critical for this shawl but may affect yardage needed to complete the shawl.

Recommended Materials

Yarn
DK weight yarn in two colors, 320 yards/292 meters | 462 yards/422 meters per color.

Small sample was made using Pink Squirrel DK, 231 yards/211 meters/100 g (65% Superwash Merino / 20% Silk / 15% Yak) in the London Blue Topaz colorway for the light color and the Amber colorway for the dark color.

Large sample was made using Baah Sonoma DK 234 yards/214 meters/100 g (100% Superwash Merino) in the Irish Moss colorway for the light color and the Blue Winged Teal colorway for the dark color.

Both yarns were purchased from my local yarn shop, Colorful Yarns, and their availability for online purchase may be limited. However, any DK weight yarn that blocks well should work well for this pattern.
