Deka Top and Dress
This design was created as a celebration of my 10+ years of working in my company, hence the name, Deka. This pattern is made-to-measure, which means you make the top following your own measurements and preference; trying the WIP on as you go is highly recommended. It’s worked from top to bottom: the front panel is made first, then the body is worked continuously in turned rounds, followed by the straps and the sleeves. This is a two-row repeat pattern, made with HDC rows. A negative ease is recommended for this top, but you can adjust according to your preference. There are three options for this pattern: the Crop Top, the Babydoll Top, and the Dress.
Sport weight (size 2) or fingering weight (size 1) yarns are recommended for this pattern. For reference, I made my version with a sport-weight cotton yarn and a 4.5mm hook for the front and main panels and straps, and a 5.5mm hook for the sleeves and ruffles. For my sample size, I used sport-weight yarns, around 144g or 540m (591 yds) for the crop top, 200g or 750m (820 yds) for the baby doll top, and 668g or 1536m (1680 yds) for the maxi dress.
