Say hello to Delaney Socks!

PATTERN DETAILS

Delaney Socks are an easy-to-knit, rhythmic lace pattern that emulates a honeycomb. After casting on at the toe, the lace pattern is stared early on to expand across the upper foot. You’ll work the pattern across the upper foot and stockinette across the sole stitches until the heel turn. Following the heel, you’ll mirror the pattern expansion over the toe to expand the pattern gradually across the back of the leg. Finally, once your sock has reached the desired length, two options are provided for the cuff- a traditional ribbing and stretchy cast-off and an advanced technique using a folded cuff and sewn cast-off.

SKILL LEVEL
Intermediate knitting abilities, some familiarity with sock knitting suggested. Pattern is both fully written and fully charted so you can work in your preferred format (or switch back and forth throughout the pattern).

YARN & NEEDLES
You can use any sock yarn that gets you (close enough) to gauge- semi-solid/tonal yarns are especially recommended to highlight the lace pattern. Yardage depends on your knitting gauge, foot size, and potential personal modifications. Sample socks are knit in approx. 350y of Malagrigo Sock

Suggested needles are 2.00mm/US 0 (or size to hit gauge)- pattern was written for long circular needles/magic loop, but confident knitters can substitute their preferred technique.

NOTE
Instructions are provided for a woman’s medium, but adjustments can easily accommodate larger/smaller sizes. Delaney socks have been fully tech-edited and test-knit. Cuff Option Two (shown in sample socks) might be a new technique to some sock knitters- I love the professional and long-lasting finish it gives my socks! Instructions for this option are provided both fully written and with setp-by-step photo guides.
