I found a pair of complementary motifs in a Renaissance embroidery book, and I combined them in this vertical colourwork cowl. The blue curves are offset by straight blue lines, which reminded me of artificial water courses (or leats) used to channel a stream to power a water mill . Delfes is Old English for canal or channel.
