Delicate Blush is a graceful shawl with a simple construction. It has a large lace border at the bottom and a smaller one at the top, with growing garter stitch in between the borders. The shawl itself is a simple lacework repeated throughout the piece, and it can be beautifully made with a single color, but it will really pop out of your shawl collection if worked as a fading project. It is meant to be knit with fingering weight yarn (or anything between lace and DK), and to be made with just a few or many skeins of close but different colors, would it be full skeins, partial skeins, leftover yarns from other projects, scrap yarns, or a mix of all that, as long as they share a similar gauge. So let your creativity flow, and jump on this captivating and elegant project.

About the yarn
The number of colors you will be using is completely up to you. You can use only one color or a fade set, either a store-bought set or one that you’re creating from your stash. Best results are obtained when the color changes are not so obvious, but interesting results can also be achieved with more contrasting colors. Aim for a total of 400-1200 yards of yarn, depending on your preferences on shawl sizes.

The prototype was made using about 800 yards of yarn in 14 different colorways. Its dimensions are 60” (152 cm) at top edge by 40” (102 cm) at bottom edge.
