Make a Darling Lace Baby Bonnet for that Special Little One in your Life

A baby bonnet is one of my favorite things to crochet and gift to new parents. They work up fast, effortlessly and allow me to really put my creativity to work with different stitches and textures.

For this darling lace bonnet I used one of my favorite lace yarns, Patons Lace Sequin in the color moonstone. It is delicate and pairs beautifully with the shell stitch used in this pattern. If you have used Patons Lace yarn before, you are probably familiar with the unique texture it creates. As you can see in the photos on this page the yarn is slightly fuzzy, making it perfect for larger hooks. In fact, I find that using a 6.5 mm hook with this yarn creates a near perfect lace look while still being comfortable to crochet.

Patons Lace Sequin comes in 12 colors, mostly warm and cool pastels, making it perfect for a newborn gift or photo prop. You may also substitute with Patons Lace (a similar yarn without the sequins) which comes in 11 different colors including my favorite, self-striping colorways.
