DELUXE SWIFFER SOCK

There are easier Swiffer socks but this one has a few niceties. The back of the fairisle fabric is used as the right side because the extra layer provided by the floats holds a little extra of the moist cleaning solution and adds a good texture for scrubbing. The fit is neat because of elasticized edges plus a zipper. And the zipper makes it really easy to get on and off of the mop head. A little bit of skill on a sewing machine is a big help but not absolutely essential.

YARN, GAUGE, SIZE AND MACHINE
This sock is for the ordinary size of Swiffer or similar flat mop. Use any standard gauge machine that has fairisle capability and any two colors of #1-2 yarn that will knit to 7 stitches/10 rows per inch in stockinette. Fairisle will change the gauge a bit but that is accounted for in the pattern. Fairisle is knitted at one whole stitch size larger than the stockinette. On my Studio 740, I used stitch size 7 for the stockinette and stitch size 8 for the fairisle.
