Top down sweaters are a favourite knit for me. There’s something about casting on and seeing it take shape AND getting to try it on as I go that keeps me encouraged to just keep going!
This sweater idea came to me when I realized I wanted a simple turtleneck sweater but needed a pattern stitch to keep things interesting. A little bit of ribbing keeps the knitting from getting boring but it doesn’t make things too challenging.

Intended to be worn with 2” of positive ease but would look great with more. Sweater is designed with ¾” sleeves but feel free to make them your preferred length. I’ve also included instructions for an optional crew neck should a turtleneck be too warm for the wearer. Ten sizes to choose from should enable everyone to find their perfect fit. #sizeinclusive

Optional short rows using the German method are added to the back - not just at the top but also at the bottom edge to give it a more natural shape, making for a very flattering fit.
