This pattern is adapted from my Norwegian grandmother’s famous top-down raglan sweaters. She made sweaters in this type from the time we were infants, adjusting the size as we grew. I continue Nanny’s tradition, giving all the new babies in my life a sweater of their own. This is an infant-friendly, comfortable, easy for parents to put on, so the baby feels wrapped in love.

The sweater is knit from the top down in the raglan style. Each size provides 2 inches of ease. The button band is knit-on as you go. The sleeves are knit in the round. The collar is picked upand worked last.

Yardage in the Kraemer Perfection sport is bigger at 400 yards than Deschutes River at 328.

You will need four small buttons for finishing.
