This gorgeous cactus came about because I couldn’t find the “just right” pattern that my customer wanted so I decided to write it myself.
The desert cactus is made using basic crochet stitches and made in parts and sewn together for completion. I put a link to a video tutorial for my way of colour changing as I know this can be a daunting process for those new to crochet.
For the pot and the vase, I used 10 ply yarn and 8 ply yarn for the cactus. I also used a small amount of embroidery thread for the spikes and smile.
Other materials required:
Polyfil
10mm safety eyes
weight (optional)
wire (optional)
3.5mm hook
4.0mm hook
sewing needles
scissors

I hope you like making the cactus as much as I did. I would love to see your finished product.
