Challenge yourself and amaze your family and friends by creating a Desert Dreams Poncho.

Ideal for resort, beach or festivals, but also suited to shopping, hiking or relaxing.

The Desert Dreams Poncho is a piece of mandala fashion which features 2 mandala of your choice - one on each the front and the back.

The first step is to ‘square off’ your mandala, then you join them into one piece, work the sides and the hemlines, trim the hem and work your neck and you’re done!

Don’t get me wrong, though - this piece takes TIME. My testers took around 50 hours to complete their ponchos, but they’re so happy with the results!

Yarn:
I’ve used 8ply (DK) cotton from Bendigo Woollen Mills to make my sample ponchos, but any colors and summer yarns would be a good alternative.

Wool-blend yarns (even a ‘cake’ of some sort) would make a warmer alternative for the cooler months.

Special Stitches/Techniques (in addition to those required for your mandalas):

Chainless Starting stitches (recommended, but not essential)
Foundation stitches (not many, but essential!)
Linked stitches (optional for finishing)
Crochet 2 or 5 together
