Desert oases is a long shawl that have longer ends that will drape gracefully around the shoulders and keeps in place without a pin.

The shawl is knitted in one piece starting at the bottom lace edge. This shawl can be knit in one color, two colors or several colors.

As part of the design the shawl pictured is intentionally blocked more than usual. The extra blocking gives an asymmetric wave effect in the garter ridges, which emphasizes the asymmetric pattern of the shawl. Furthermore the extra blocking gives a lighter material with less density than garter ridges usually have.

This pattern includes directions for a large/long shawl (width: 255 centimeters, Height: 65 centimeters).

The pattern is written for a knitter who is able to keep track of counting (with the help of stitch markers), follow written instructions as well as follow a chart, increase and decrease and knows how to do a “wrap and turn”.

This pattern calls for a yarn with a 27 stitch count per 10 centimeters gauge. i.e. a yardage of approximately 175 meters per 50 grams.

Materials: yarn, circular knitting needle and a double pointed knitting needle the top edge.

I have a loyalty program where you can choose a free pattern after purchasing my patterns for at minimum of § 25.0.

The pattern does not include finished items yarn etc. The pattern only includes instruction for knitting the shawl.
