I love having options when creating new projects. This pattern (like the old “Choose Your Own Adventure” books for kids) allows you to choose your cast on, rib, heel flap, and toe along the way and create several different pairs of socks from this one pattern.

This pattern requires one skein, 400 yards of fingering weight yarn. You can choose to add a miniskein of a coordinating color if you wish. There are many options with video links for different types of cuffs, ribs, heel flaps, and toes.

This could be your “go to” for rib socks. A very nice pattern for adventurous beginner knitters.
