Worked sideways with fingering weight yarn, Despina Shawl has a versatile and wearable asymmetric triangle shape. It starts at the point and grows into a triangular piece by increases along the edge. Because of the simple construction and easy lace, this shawl can be worked in almost any weight of yarn (except lace yarn) with just an adjustment in needle size.

I have provided full written instructions as well as charts.

Materials & Tools:

1. Yarn CHMURKA Goat on the boat 100g = 400m (437yds), 70% sw merino, 20% silk, 10% cashmere, 2 skeins. For the shawl sample I used Peony colorway.
2. Hook size 3.5mm. Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge,
3. Tapestry needle (to weave and hide yarn ends),
4. Scissors,
5. 3 stitch markers.

Level: Intermediate.

Size after blocking:
One size: approx. 135cm/53.15” wide and 70cm/27.56” long at center.

Gauge after blocking:
After row 16: 20.5cm/8.07’’ wide and 10.5cm/4.13 long at center.

Gauge is not crucial for this project. However, changes might result in different yardage requirements and finished size.

Notes:

• The pattern uses US crochet terminology.
• Shawl is worked in rows back and forth.
