Destiny Fair Isle Tam is designed as a traditional Fair Isle piece worked with Jamieson’s Shetland wool. The hallmark of the tam is the use of two contrasting colors, each with 3 shades. In this instance, Sherbet and Tartan are the dominant colors in the various patterns. The corrugated ribbing, a traditional technique, clearly shows off the dynamics of the colors. Five borders consisting of three peeries and two elaborate traditional OXO borders define the body. In spectacular fashion, the “Seven-Point Tam Wheel” pattern tops off the tam, blending the use of color and geometric design for a stunning kaleidoscope effect.
