Detroit’s historic Corktown is named as such from the immigration of people from the County of Cork, Ireland in the late 19th and early 20th century. Corktown is the oldest surviving neighborhood in Detroit, Michigan. This hat gives homage to the brave immigrants who left their homes and traveled to the US in hopes of a better life through hard work pre and during the rise of the auto industry. Celtic cable work reminds us of Irish heritage and the mohair of Michigan winters coming together.
