Single crochet entrelac achieves the popular block-by-block technique of entrelac using only single crochet and chain stitches. This pattern contains step-by-step photos and instructions for several configurations of entrelac including diamonds on point, diagonal stripes, around the world, and sunshine and shadow.

With the Diagonal Stripes arrangement, blocks are set on the square and form diagonal lines running from the lower right to the upper left. Quilt patterns using this arrangement are sometimes called Streak of Lightning. You begin with a single block in the lower left corner and work in diagonal rows of blocks, each row containing one block more than the previous row, until piece is as tall and wide as desired. Then, piece is finished by working decreasing numbers of blocks to upper right corner.

Instructions are included for projects in each configuration, and instructions are given for using these techniques to plan your own projects of any size.
