Diagonal Two-Color Square
by Lissa Ann
Two right triangles make a square, and these two are different colors. This solid variation on a granny square is constructed by crocheting over a carried strand and switching colors in the corners, producing a dual-colored block perfect for complex designs on bags or blankets.
This square can be made with any yarn and an appropriate hook. Need a bigger square? Crochet any number of rounds by expanding on the directions given.
This tutorial demonstrates the magic ring method and a standing double crochet start for the second round. Other techniques may be substituted.
Stitches required: Chain, double crochet, slip stitch.
