This top-down sock is written as a 68-stitch sock, which will be a small/medium and a 72-stitch sock, which will be a medium/large depending on yarn characteristics.

Loosely inspired by the high tech book of the same title by Neal Stephenson, I enjoyed the irony of interpreting the Diamond Age concept through the low tech medium of two sticks and some string.
