Our “My First Fair Isle Hat” has been a staple in our introductory Fair Isle classes for years and years. I decided we needed a new choice, with lighter colors and this is that. Diamond Du Jour is a great hat to learn on as the background color never changes and
the pattern colors are fairly simple. I think the colors are fresh and the crown motif makes for a pretty ending” ~Joan
Size: Approximately 21”. Adjust size by changing the needle size.
Gauge: 28 sts = 4”/10 cm in pattern in the round using larger needles after blocking.
Yarn: Fingering weight, sample made with Jamieson’s Spindrift (25 g, 115 yds/105 m) in six colors.
Needles and notions: US 1/2.5 mm and US 3/3.25 mm for circular knitting or size to achieve gauge. Stitch marker, tapestry needle.
