This granny square was designed as a trim for a crochet sweater. Although I haven’t stated a specific yarn type or hook size, the sample in the pictures was made using a 5.5mm hook and aran weight yarn. The finished granny square is approximately 5 1/2 inches.

Hook sizes between 3.5mm and 5.5mm should produce a nice looking square, as will using any DK or aran weight yarn.
