I have been intrigued by simplistic black and white patterns for some time and kept thinking they would look great as a knit, with a colour splash.

Said and done, here is the first pattern in my Black and White Simplicity series. It has diamonds and a delicious folded hem peeking out just a little. I hope you like it as much as I do!

Fits: Teens or ladies medium
Measurents: 9,5cm/3.7” x 25cm/10”
Gauge: 31 st x 31 rows = 4” (blocked)
Yarn: Rauma finullgarn in Blue (15g), Black (25g) and White (25 g).
Needles: 3mm/US2.5 and 2,5mm/US1.5.
Also: Stitch holder and a tapestry needle.

Notes: I knit my mittens using the magic loop method, but DPNs works as well, or a short circular needle if that is what you prefer.

Please make sure not to leave too long floats at the back of your work. I twist the yarn every three stitches to make the back neat and tidy.
