As I sat at my son’s football game one Saturday morning I saw a woman with a hat similar to this. I loved it and as soon as I got home I grabbed my yarn and hook and came up with the Diamond Trellis hat pattern.

It is pretty quick and easy, but I would say this pattern is a medium difficulty level for those with experience in a variety of stitches. You do need to know how to do sc, dc, hdc, hdc in the 3rd loop, fpdc, bpdc, FPtr2tog.

The finished product is thick and warm and very versatile.
