This pattern includes the written instructions, the chart with Xs, and assembly instructions for creating this tote bag. I have also included a chart with the pattern repeat so that you can make a pillow, blanket, or table runner using this pattern.

The technique is mosaic crochet overlay, where the colors alternate each row. You will be working on the same side of each row, so the front of the piece is always facing you. The ends will be used to secure the sides of the tote bag together. If you are using this pattern to make a blanket, you can hide the ends with a double border.

FOR THE TOTE BAG -
This is intended to be used as an outer layer to an existing 14” x 16” canvas tote bag (excluding straps). If you are working with a different size bag, the size can be adjusted by altering the weight of the yarn and size of the hook. The chart size for the tote bag is 113x67. The size of your piece will vary depending on the yarn and hook used, as well as your specific gauge.

For the tote bag, you will need two colors, approximately 300 yards of each color. If making a blanket, you will need more yarn!

BONUS - I have also included charts for two variations of this pattern, both for a tote bag size and the chart with repeats marked for adjusting the size.
